In 1979, Mystery Electronics was born out of a small audio contracting company's need for a product that didn't exist.

At the time there were no floor boxes specifically made for the AV industry.  Low voltage connections were being made across the industry in project specific "homemade" or locally fabricated enclosures.

With the introduction of what became the FMCA1000 the AV Floor Box pocket category was created.
